Because also Dragon Ball = story revolving about the dragon balls, which can be used to grant 1/2/3 wishes = expanded, story revolving around sagas of characters searching for the dragon balls and using them for wishes, also competing with anyone else who shares the same ambition. Nowadays, the dragon balls became just a mere tool to meet with plot convenience, the anime could also be called Potara Earrings for that matter. Or Senzu Bean Z. Off-topic as fuuuuuuuuuu......
